@patrick , you seem to have a tough time tolerating abilify, but it’s keeping you sane.
You’re on 20mg, have you tried a slightly lower dose? Did that not work out?
What are the issues you have in tolerating it?

hi, i like to have a small break from time to time also - similar reasoning - these meds are bad for us aside from benefits and a break now and then lets you know just how much you really need to be taking them…
I said in my opening statement that I don’t recommend a med break for anyone else.
If you wouldn’t encourage anyone not to take their meds is not the point…the point that YOU are going without meds is incentive enough for people…go experiment and gamble with your stable mind if you want but leave me out of it.
Stop acting like my mother, @jukebox…
I’ll know when I’m ready to return.
think of your family for crying out loud @Patrick what and why are you doing this ? you’re jeopardizing everything.
Everything in moderation…including moderation.
When the meds wear out of my system, I’ll probably feel like I’ve had 20 coffees (my normal state) and then I’ll go back on my Abilify.
I’m not tossing the medication away forever.
The point is, you consistently start acting like a jerk when you go off your meds. Why would you subject us all to that? Why would you subject your family to that? I’ve seen med-free Patrick, and I really have to say, it’s not an improvement.
I lost all respect for you when you called me a colossal douche. Your opinions don’t mean much to me after that.
@Patrick, last time you did this, you were here constantly posting about how awesome life was off meds and how sorry you felt for those still on, on the way to your predictable crash. One of our members was so swayed by your posts that he stopped his meds too, crashed, and had to drop out of school.
@jukebox is right to be concerned that you’re going to do this again, to the detriment of our community. He has plenty of history to base his worries on.
I had to take a break from Zoloft because it was flaring up my bladder issues so badly I wasn’t sleeping, which was setting off other symptoms.
Only problem is I got off my routine of taking it so now I keep forgetting to take it and I’ve been off for over a week.
If you don’t want to be called a colossal douche, you shouldn’t act like a colossal douche.
I recently tried a med break for about the third time. Never worked any time. If you are going to have a holiday please be vigilant.
d0000d. C’mon, you know better. For the sake of your wife and daughters, don’t mess with your meds.
