Take a picture of anything thread 3

I’ll try my best to answer

  • I like to snap anything that looks good, I love scenery and also close ups of animals, anything that’s interesting to me but not fast moving things like a twitcher would do but I would love to take a close up of a bumble bee on a flower or a butterfly or other insects

  • The light is always changing here throughout the Spring/Summer its very changeable but mostly grey skies around Autumn/winter, it will be nearly always outside, sometimes in an Old Building like a castle or similar.

  • Skill level… I still think I am a noob but I think I have a good eye for a snap sometimes

  1. You are looking for the ability to shoot from extreme close-ups (photomacrography) to landscapes (wide-angle). You’ll need something with interchangeable lenses.
  2. You’ll need something with a larger sensor. At least an APS-C sized sensor. Larger sensors have less noise than smaller sensors. This is important in low-light situations.
  3. You’ll want something that has full auto settings to begin with and then you can learn how to use the more manual settings later.

I’d recommend a used dSLR for your needs. It has the moving mirror inside with the prism viewfinder that lets you see through the lens. A lot of people are upgrading to the new mirrorless cameras and dumping their old bodies on the market for cheap. Good time to buy. Also, Canon just came out with a new lens system so pros are dumping good EF style glass for under the usual value.

I’d recommend a used Canon Digital Rebel dSLR with 12 MP or over picture quality. It should come with an 18-55mm kit lens to start with. They’re actually quite good in terms of picture quality and will hold you over until you an add more.

My 2 cents.

It actually could of been worse as i had arm pads on but after the first hit on the ground the pad then slid up and so it slid across the ground. I rarely crash, but atleast i didnt break anything :grimacing:

Yeah is good you had some protection. I knew a guy who was into downhill biking. Damn his bike was heavy! He wore a pad suit which made him look like a storm trooper!
