I find my government way too intrusive already. No way I want them to register my name and address in some “schizophrenia-database”. I do not want that information following me around. I have a hard enough time with prejudice by doctors and police and CPS and the like now…with them not wanting to believe my physical problems…not wanting to take my report of proven child abuse…and the like. I can see there are advantages too…but I would fight it if they would want me in some general database like that - hard.
I didn’t read the article, but it is stigmatizing to put people on a schizophrenia list.
Only my docs need to know.
Yeah no surprise being an Aussie schizophrenic. Lots of things going by the wayside over here these days with health so we aren’t the only ones I’m guessing.
I guess that’ll keep them safe from hackers if there’s no data
Im guessing the stats are similar to the uk and us anyway. Cant be that different.
They tried to do this in my country when the stigma was at its height. Police could track people with psychosis and search for their address. They were really going to do this until some activists tried to stop them.
Wow. I hope they don’t do that secretly in Belgium !
I think that’s against the UN statutes. Pretty sure most developed countries signed it.
If something like that were to happen, bunch of UN personnels will stop it.
The last time I changed address the police did ask what my profession was. I said I was on disability. They didn’t ask more though.
Ah ok. It’s a common question so I wouldn’t worry about it. They ask me about that all the time.
