Ok so yesterday I had to get a physical and labs, turns out hed already ran the labs the shrink wanted a couoke months ago. They wint tell me whats wrong but dr said something funny. I said so does it say in my file from the shrink a diagnosis or anything and he said well hunny you can still live a full and enjoyable life with therapy and meds, so when are they putting you in the hospital isnt that why youre here? I said no they didn’t say anything about going inpatient Whats wrong, he says sometimes you just need to have faith and then we are going to get you as well as possible okay…so i was like uh okay…i wanted yo press but i cant handle any sort of confrontation about anything so i just let it go and now its bugging me?!
I don’t understand.
A family doctor can’t commit you.
A psychiatrist can.

Nothing in your labs will come up with a Dx for MI.
And they let you go home afterwards?
Yeah it was a really weird appointment, I go see the psychologist next week. Whats a DX ?
DX is short for diagnosis. I don’t know where you live but I think someone with a badge would be knocking on your door to haul you in if the GP was concerned about your safety. I think you’re okay.

People say stupid things. They apparently don’t teach social skills in medical school. I’ve had doctors, nurses and therapists say stupid things to me that in restrospect I should have questioned. I’ve been too passive.

Yes Im very passive myself Im working on being more assertive but its hard seems to get me in trouble

People think because we have MI that we’re inherently lacking… and sometimes we believe that too. But we’re equal to anyone, even doctors. Demanding respect is really difficult. I hate confrontation. But I always feel better after I’ve stood up for myself.
