Mine is really awesome. He is Pakistani so sometimes I can’t understand him due to his accent. But he often teases me. He says when I am having my manic episodes that at least I can go home and clean the house. Or maybe he isn’t joking…
May I ask what happened ? The worst pdoc I ever had would try to force me to get a physical when I didnt have insurance. I believe he was trying to hide from me that aps raise blood sugar and cholesterol because he would not tell me why I needed one. He would also change my medication without telling me. He would also put me on a higher dose without telling me first. Was he slick or what?
It could be he is testing you to see how you defend your boundaries. Or, it could be something more sinister. You need to ask yourself if you can fend off this guy if he is after sex, and what it will do to you if he gets it. I’ve heard a pretty fair number of psychiatrists have had sex with one or more of their patients. I think the figure was ten per cent.
My first pdoc was a bully and placed me on Navane, a powerful typical AP.
He told me that I could pop one or two extra pills whenever I felt anxious.
This is downright bad advice!
My second male psychiatrist was also an arrogant jerk who kept me on a strong antidepressant for years even though it made me manic and psychotic.
I just trust female psychiatrists and therapists a lot more.
Tell him if he doesn’t knock off the weird stuff you’re going to sleep with his wife (if he has one).
It does sound a little creepy. It doesn’t sound right. It could be innocent, maybe keep going and see how it goes. If it keeps going like it is, then it’s your right to fire a psychiatrist you don’t like for whatever reason.
