Side effects of Invega

I’m taking invega/ paliperidone, almost two months of it.

I think i’m becoming more hungry. Hm. Is this real? Or it is my subconsciousness…?

I’ve lost weight and eat far less on it. I just don’t have an appetite. But everyone reacts different. I have less periods.

When I started it, and whenever my doses have been upped, it has felt like I’ve been more hungry for a while, but at the same time had less of an appetite.
I just had my dose raised to 12mg a few days ago, and I’m already noticing a big change in my hunger levels.
It should all settle down eventually, though.

I’m on the Invega Sustenna injection and it’s made me super hungry. I’ve gained 20lbs in two months. I’m going to possibly talk to my doctor about a new med.

Oh, I get hungry but at the same time can’t stand the taste of anything. I take a few bites and that is it.

I was on invega for 9 months. It gave me sexual dysfunction, high cholesterol and low testosterone. I don’t really think it affected my appetite too much. I’ve gained a couple kg whilst on invega, luckily not too much.

I was on Invega for 3 months. Severe sexual dysfunction…

I’m also gaining some weight and feeling more hungry on the 3mg invega pill. I feel alot better on the 3mg than the 6mg pill.

My worst symptoms are breast pain sometimes (goes away with vitamin e which reduces prolactin by over 60%,) perpetual stuffy nose and sexual dysfunction.

I have a decent appetite. But I don’t get fat because I am on topiramate for epilepsy.

Wait…you’re a woman?

It raised my prolactin levels. I have very light periods. I get hungry and crave hearty foods. That seems to be getting less severe though. I’m ok with all of this though as it’s really helping with my positive symptoms.

No, but I get pain in the boob sometimes.

My right nipple also feels a bit sore to the touch. Guess it must’ve been the prolactin. Thank god you and I didn’t lactate…

Low sex drive, high prolactin levels, high cholesterol, other than that my positives are under control. My mind hasn’t stopped racing since I came back down to reality which was more than a year ago but I hear voices randomly, I don’t hallucinate, I’m not delusional, don’t talk to myself, have insight into my illness, maintain my hygiene, work full time as a cashier and go to the gym at least 3 - 4 times a week. I also get the monthly injection of 156mg.

I did gain 20lbs in the beginning when I first started my Invega but managed to lose all 20lbs with diet and excercise.

Invega tends to make people gain weight but has many pros. You don’t have to worry about taking your medications daily. For some people that is necessary. If it’s really helping you then you should stay on it. Yes you will feel hunger

I read that vitamin e will lower prolactin by 60%.
