Their poop is EVERYWHERE. Sigh.
Why does it have a wrong message? I believe that there are many children living on this earth who have low self-confidence and they have not many friends, but as they grow up they find themselves being unique and eventually find their future partners. I think that the story is good, I already heard in my childhood.

The ugly duckling has been bullied becouse he was not like others,he was a dissident. But trough his metamorphosis,story doesn’ t show that the duckling remains to stay indenpedently itself,but shows that in order to be accepted you must be LIKE the others .
and the ugly duckling was not UGLY anymore for he turns out to be a beatiful swan.
It is like this, an ugly Monarch butterfly caterpillar changes to a beautiful Monarch butterfly. I used to grow my moths and butterflies like this in my childhood.
