Sad Movie - Do Not Watch If You Don't Want To Cry

This movie made me cry when it came out and it makes me tear up just watching the preview. I was never living with my mom. She and my Dad have been divorced practically my entire life. I wasn’t even 1 years old when they separated. So watching this movie as a 7 or 8 year old with my Dad in his bedroom was like a punch in my face and I live it every day.

My parents divorced when I was about 1 also.

I’m sorry things were so tough for you growing up.

I think I can empathize with ya.

I could image that would be hard on anyone with your past family history. Mine was The Graves of the Fireflies. I could not finish it even at my mid30s. Was you able to finish yours?

I stopped on the initial run but then I came back the next day and watched with my Dad again. I do not think I could finish it today.

Yes, Ive seen the movie. Yes it’s pretty sad.

same here. I cant say I never think about the past. I wish I could say that.

But I try to leave it behind as much as possable. I dont want it affecting my presnt amd future.

My dad was great, but had his flaws amd limits. My mom, well, that is a different story.

After their divorce, myself (13yrs), and two of my also minor aged brothers were throw out of her house. We had to survive on our own.

Not being in contact with your mom is terrible… sorry to hear, it must be heartbreaking.

I cried at the last scene of that movie, when the aliens recreated the experience for him.

Yeah for sure that was a sad moment. For me it was mind numbing because I was either already cried out or it was okay in my mind but I was tired.

Lol I have cried more for this movie than any other. It was just so sad seeing it as a kid and it felt too relatable…

Duuuuude. This movie ■■■■■■ me up so hard. I was about 7 or 8 when I first watched it, and I slept with my mum for a month after.

To this day I still think about that movie a lot. So sad imagining that little boy looking for a fairy so he could see his mom that died 1000s of years ago.

And that ending!!! Was just so cool!!! And teddy was the sweetest. Overall a great movie. Still totally messed me up though. I cry everytime.
