Very nice!

If i can lend some constructive criticism tho, dont just darken and shade around your lines if going for a realistic look. Ive found when doing grey scale flowers to shade each petal as if it were its own picture, imagining where and how the light would strick each petal asymmetrically and the shadows and glare that would result. Many forget about glare when doing graphite work but it adds a great deal to dimensionality of a piece.

Nice work tho, very sharp lines, which i have trouble doing sometimes, im kind of a scribble drawer. Keep posting the pics tho, love it!!

I would take some criticisms on my pieces i posted last week here if you have some for me…artists helping artists right?!? We can only get better!!

Omg you’re amazing if I can draw half as good as you I’d be chuffed

What is chuffed? Lol.

Just takes practice and dedication, and alot of erasers!!! Thanks for the kind words tho, i appreciate it, although im never happy with my own work. Trying to do something with my art now finally and try to make some money doing something i like to do. Thats my new adventure of the week.
long post warning (sry kinda just kept going)
Ive been Trying to keep drawing and put together a portfolio that i.can do something with. So dont throw anything away!! You will be glad to look back on early drawings and see how youve progressed. And it helps add padding to your book of work. i wish i had more of mine, i have very few.

I also dont necessarily have a set style so i think.it will be hard to gain a following as people generally have a style they like. I guess maybe surrealism to a point, the twisted tree pictures are what comes out naturally when not thinking or having a set picture in mind, they started as doodles. I am proud of the one with the tunnel tho, still some.minor details to finish up on that.

Id be happy to lend any tips you may want although im only partially trained in art and that was just high school.12 yrs ago. Feel free to pm me at any time i would love to help if i can. Remember art is about emotion, so dont get worked up in details, try to portray some sort of emotion as best as possible unless its a commentary piece, and the actual lines are sometimes not as important as what isnt there to let the viewer fill in the blanks with their own experiences and emotions. Ill try and dig something up to show you what i.mean.

This is all what i have been told by art enthusiasts that have seen my work. I have a tendency to go way overboard and ruin a piece by putting too much in it and have to constantly check myself to keep from doing that, usually by asking my wife…“should i keep going”…lol. but i still have a hard time disserning what is a drawing from what is “art”, and all i keep being told is the portrail of emotion. To be able to inflict a desired, or even unintentional, emotional response from the viewer.

You have skills young jedi it just takes practicing your techniques and honing your skills. Im 31 now and have been drawing regularly since ive been probably 5yrs old, first art lessons when i was in kindergarden, with maybe a 7 year hiatus do to work, just recently been getting back into art and did those works ive posted except for the graffiti all within the past few months mostly. And i feel i am sub-par at most as an artist, but im a tough critic on myself. How long have you been drawing @anon80629714 ? You show tons of promise, you may just need to find your niche, which i do as well, i think.

Thank you Reggie please check your pm

Nice! I wish I could do that. You’re very talented.

Chuffed to bits. It’s a british expression, if I remember correctly. It means being positively impressed by something.

So me being stupid I thought I should try colour and ruined it

You did a great job on both drawings i wish i could draw that good

See my pm i just sent, but definitely not ruined. Maybe you just prefer the black and white arts and have a slight distaste for color in general? I think it is very well done, the blending is that of a pro, and like i said in the pm, just keep working on your lighting effects and the realism will start to take form. Very well done! < standing ovation >
