I read the article. Describing sickness as a ‘lifestyle’ culture seems a bit harsh and incorrect.

Unemployment is at all time lows in Europe. If they want more people to participate they need to create adjusted jobs that are feasible for the person in question.

It’s kinda politics though.

I admit I was worried

If anything the PIP benefit is preventing people getting it already

No idea how they can make their process even more punitive when it’s already a soulless and callous task to get what you’re entitled to!

I think it’s all about money. He just wants to save on the disabled.

Maybe it’s the economist in me thinking.

There is an election soon

Maybe he’s trying to look tough against people like us?

Trying to make out we’re sick notes and lazy

What a load of ■■■■■■■■

Thing is some people do have this attitude towards people who can’t work

Makes me so angry!

We have elections as well in Belgium in June.

Some people have the same rhetoric here.

When I was off work during 2022, I looked online and the new benefits were a third less than the legacy system

Absolute joke

This issue was already a kick in the teeth

And this is just completely unacceptable

Political parties always target people on benefits before an election to try and win the tax payers vote.

I cannot work it out in my head

Before we had asylums that cost a fortune to the taxpayer

Then care in the community

That second part needs the assistance to sustain

People will suffer if they all but remove the protections

Without getting in to specifics and getting into politics, there are certain realities that both sides seem to have issues coming to grips with. You can’t make these decisions solely on ideology. And you certainly can’t make these decisions on emotion either.

Both sides of this issue need to view what will happen if they take certain actions and weigh what is best in the end.

Anyway, this is probably getting too political.
