Nah I think it’s more to do with trauma because it affects the brain and how it develops is what I’m thinking.

It reminds me that there was an article I wanted to share that has shown some promise that video games can improve cognitive issues. (I say issues because there’s words I know are more relevant but too tired and forgot)

But it was a small study and the games were specifically made by that research group. So it wasn’t modern popular games that were used.

My take on that is that they should fund more research to provide games that can be challenging whilst providing education but are still fun and engaging.

And I really think they can go far with the education thing. Like, not just low grades, but up to at least 8th grade stuff.

Also, although there’s a lot of guys/girls that get kind of stuck in painful situations from being addicted, I learned punctuation from playing Final Fantasy XI. That game is engaging but it was kind of a challenge to learn but because it was fun I stuck with it in spite of feeling it was daunting. And that game has a reputation for being harsh. It still showed me that risks can be rewarding experiences and it gave me a chance to connect with other gamers from around the globe (the most exciting aspect of it).

Of course the way gamers typed in that game wasn’t always proper punctuation and often a lot of players mistook players that did for being smug - I did too. (I adapted though over time) But it was also challenging because you had to learn to interact with other players who you knew were unpredictable but also a real life person.

I said a lot… Sorry if it’s too much. But I have a lot to say about this issue with technology too in this time. Like I’m grateful we have this place to use as a platform to communicate. It’s a huge benefit.

My real problem is it is straining my arms and hands, fingers and biceps using it so much :sob: lol edit: and eyes… Ouch

I still type normally. I guess I use predictive text too, but I still use punctuation.

Short words I type.

Long words I type the start, then click from predictive text.

I’m on Android.

The English language will probably be unrecognizable in 100 years.

I never use autocorrect; it would make me too lazy and defocused.

I’m also able to use semi-colons (see above).

Am I not great?

Please tell me I’m great!

Actually today I’m feeling down - a former (major) crush just sent me a photo of her new boyfriend and was going on and on about how much she likes him. I almost blocked her…

She probably wants you to be jealous

Why would she want that?
It was her who didn’t accept my courtship.

We’ve been friends for many years. At some point I wanted more, she wasn’t interested.

It’s actually the first time she’s showing so much interest in a guy. All her former relationships were lukewarm at best.

Hmm well you sound like you know her well so maybe I’m just wrong about her

Sorry for derailing the thread.

Punctuation and spelling ARE important.

Woman, without her man, is nothing.
vs
Woman: without her, man is nothing.
