my first psychiatrist was a man at the hospital. He was great, he’s the one who told me I should apply for Medicaid and social security. Then I went to the assigned clinic and got a woman psychiatrist, she was a bitch. (pardon the language) she put me on fanapt and it tore my stomach apart. I also still heard voices. She said “well you are suppose to” it was like “tell the voices that”. then I moved and got a new female doctor that I barely understood when she talked. she put me on a high dose of risperidone and it worked but I was tired all the time. I had three other pdocs after I moved a couple of times. one was a dick, one retired and the other one yelled at my partner. the last one i’m on now is originally from india, he just tweaks the meds mostly that’s it.
Mine is a woman but I’ve found it doesn’t matter if they’re a man or a woman in terms of the quality of the service. I currently see a woman and she’s awesome, I also saw a different woman previously and she didn’t help me one bit
My first 2 psychiatrists were males, they were both psychopaths - Big ego maniacs, they both did more harm than good - Never again.
I have decided to see female psychiatrists from now on, my past psychiatrist and current psychiatrist are female.
I find that female psychiatrists are more compassionate and less arrogant.
I prefer female therapists as well.
Both my pdoc and my therapist are male and they seem fine. Maybe it’s a US thing
No, I think that I had some bad luck with male psychiatrists - it could be just me.
Many people have male psychiatrists and they do well with them.
Its just my preference.
I get that, I was just keeding Good night!!
Currently mine is a woman. She might be my fav so far, time will tell.
I gots a female pdoc. She seems competent so far. I can’t say one way or another about either sex being universally good or bad. I’ve had good and bad of both male and female pdocs.
I’m still trying to figure it out.
