Poll: How many of your parents are still alive?

You don’t mean that offensively do you?

Sorry I’ve been psychotic lately.

Wtf… how do you say “I’m sorry for your loss” in an offensive way? I was trying to be nice to you and send you my condolences. I deleted my comment.

You need to see a doctor ASAP and get your meds adjusted or something.

Sorry my meds have been losing their effectiveness. I may need a rise on my dose.

I tend to think people who send polite messages are actually offending me. Nothing about you.

Lots of people have said that while meaning my dad is going to hell for not being Christian.

Nothing against you, buddy. You’re a good guy

My father died around 1990 when I was 3

He was a cheating alcoholic that abandoned me and my mother. His family have nothing to do with me

At age 5 my mother met a new guy and he’s been more of a father to me than my father ever could be

Growing up was difficult but once I was able to move out our relationship has got much better

Trust that being independent has some seriously good things about it

I’d do anything for him or my mother

Just because you do or do not relate by blood is immaterial

Both can let you down or do anything for you

Both are still in their early fifties. And all my grandparents are still alive also. Both grandfathers working full-time. One is 83 and is a professional artist.

I’m 40 and Ive never met my father. Is that weird? I’ve considered trying to meet him but I doubt he wants to meet a failure to launch SZA sufferer with nothing to show for his time on this planet. Probably would think I’m after money. Anyway I’m close to my mom and she just turned 60, I’m hoping she lives a very long time!

I’ve been schizophrenic for 12-13 years. It doesn’t go away. It waxes and wanes…the condition. I’m on medication that works. I need to reduce smoking, caffeine, and need to eat healthier and exercise.

I’m on disability. I need to work. I also want to get my AS in math sooner than later. I’m not healthy. I’m obese and lack motivation to succeed and work. I also am low energy. I’m not an idiot, but I’m not a genius.

I live with my mom, step-dad, and half brother. My mom is the foundation and glue for me and my family. My step-father is in his 70s and has diabetes and memory problems…my half brother works but lives at home still. He’s sort of young.

I’m dependent on them. I don’t live on much, but cannot complain. I don’t have enough work credits.

My dad lives in another state.

We’re all getting older obviously. My mom had some health problems recently regarding her heart. My dad is getting old too. I don’t want to risk going back to a group home or being homeless some day. I can be a teacher or tutor and make ends meet!

Just one, my father kicked the bucket when I was five, stage 4 cancer is no joke.

My dad died in 2007. When my mom died in 2015 I ended up in the psyche ward after staying out of the hospital for 25 years. It was a combination of events that put me in the hospital in 2015.

My mom is 59. Dad is 62.

I dunno. :woman_shrugging:t2: it would be nice to know. The ones who raised me are still living.
