Hello, all. As you know, the mod team has been working towards creating a healthier site and improving trust between members and moderators. One way we have decided to do this is by removing the public reasons behind a suspension. It felt too much like publicly shaming the member in question. Forum software has prevented us from leaving the reason entirely blank, but from now on, when someone is suspended, the public facing reason will always just be “Suspended.” Members will still receive a private email outlining the specific rule broken, so they will still know what happened and be able to learn. But this way, there will be no way for other members to know whether the person was suspended for behavior, or just because they requested a break. We are hoping this creates an environment where people feel they can learn from their mistakes without fearing for their reputation.
This is a good policy change. Thanks!
Yeah, this new policy is probably better but I have to say, I have a morbid curiosity to see the reasons why people get suspended. But looking back, in the few cases I’ve been suspended I would have preferred that people didn’t know why and I think most people will feel the same way about themselves.
Yeah same here

Most of the time the reasons they used for my suspensions were laughable, a few times it was complete nonsense, i welcome this policy change, no more shaming people.
