Overcoming Disembodiment: The Effect of Movement Therapy on Negative Symptoms in Schizophrenia

It’s not that new, but still relatively new and I think this study wasn’t posted yet. Personally I find the philosophy underlying this research very interesting, but why they looked into this direction doesn’t really matter for the validity of the results I reckon.

CONCLUSION:

The study demonstrates that embodied therapies, such as BPT/DMT, are highly effective in the treatment of patients with schizophrenia. RESULTS strongly suggest that BPT/DMT should be embedded in the daily clinical routine

Interesting. This would be something I would like to do.

Yes I’m looking into it now. Could possibly be a more ‘light’ and fun way to approach some ongoing issues in recovery, like exercise and socialization. I find I do best at these things when they are not too explicit a target, but instead are part of some activity I do for other reasons.

I’m looking into it as well. Found a place here in Lisbon, will contact them when I have my life back in order.

Thanks for this, I think it will do me a lot of good.

I’m a student of the Feldenkrais Method since 2009. There are lots of Awareness Through Movement (ATM) Feldenkrais Method lessons freely available online. This has straightened out my thoughts very effectively, although I still have significant secondary negative symptoms due to taking at FGAP.
