Older Samsung Phones Are Blowing Up

You don’t have that problem with an iPhone

It isn’t just Samsung. Any phone with a lithium ion battery can do this. Media just likes to demonize one brand at a time.

And yes, can even happen to an iphone. I had one swell in a drawer about 5 years ago.

2 years ago a cheap tablet we got for my son did it.

I heard it’s specifically Samsung. When you store it the gases build up and bloat the battery.

Uh huh.

Ok I’m sure it can happen even with an Apple phone but it seems to be more common with Androids like Samsung.

I don’t think I’m wrong

From what I’ve been seeing on the webs of lithium batteries on fire it’s across the board. It’s like even the cars…yeah it’s nice tech but once on fire try to put one out.

Improperly stored lithium rechargable batteries are dangerous, period. Doesn’t matter what device they’re in. People store them either fully-charged or drained and bad things happen. Also, when the manufacturer of a really expensive phone says you should use their charger, it’s because they know the battery tolerances and their charger is engineered to be the safest choice for your device.

I like Samsung phones because Samsung is headquartered in a decent country. You can’t really get a phone from a USA company anymore.
