New Windows AI feature records everything you’ve done on your PC

At first glance, the Recall feature seems like it may set the stage for potential gross violations of user privacy. Despite reassurances from Microsoft, that impression persists for second and third glances as well. For example, someone with access to your Windows account could potentially use Recall to see everything you’ve been doing recently on your PC, which might extend beyond the embarrassing implications of pornography viewing and actually threaten the lives of journalists or perceived enemies of the state.

I have a pc that I rarely use and it’s got windows 10.

There’s no way I’m upgrading to 11 ever.

Well, hopefully they crack down on CP then.

They don’t even seem to be catching people openly swapping it on social media from what I have read.

This should be to the level of privacy concerns that lawmakers should be getting involved. I think I may email my senator.

What distro? I like Ubuntu, Mint, and Fedora but currently using Ubuntu. New release has been a bit buggy for a LTS.

"I wouldn’t want to use a computer running Recall to do anything I wouldn’t do in front of a busload of strangers.
“That means no more logging into financial accounts, looking up sensitive health information, asking embarrassing questions, or even looking up information about a domestic violence shelter, reproductive health clinic, or immigration lawyer.”

I really love Mint. Very elegant.

Good choice. Only problem is there are no snaps or I’d run it.

It will be up and running soon. Not really worried about it since I only use it for Youtube and Firefox.

I’ve heard some great things about Linux, but I’m not willing to take the risk of being verbally abused, as I was previously, for seeking help and support with it.

I wonder how this will affect ‘entrepreneurs’ and such. I hope it doesn’t. You know, big tech stealing from start ups and such. I wonder if this happens. China steals a lot and I heard they cannot truly innovate and just modify or change minor things in patents and such and re-patent it. Makes people not want to innovate at all.

I don’t really believe that big tech can truly innovate anymore. They have to buy out the competition or little guys. I’m thinking stuff like youtube, instagram, snap-chat, etc.
