I was thinking of sending my niece a book for a Christmas/wedding present. It is a hardback anthology of all Jane Austen’s novels. I got it at the Salvation Army for $2.00. It’s not in perfect condition. It is completely readable, but it looks like there are water stains on the edges of the pages. I tried to wipe them off, but nothing worked. It does make the book look a little tacky. Does anybody know if it would be in bad taste to send such a present? My niece likes Jane Austen.
I would cherish a used book full of novels by my favorite author. It’s hard to find good quality hardback anthologies.
It’s the 21st now, so you may not have much of a choice. When was the book printed? Maybe if it’s really old, that could be good.
I think she is getting married in late January. I’m thinking that she understands me well enough not to take exception to a wedding present that is a little worn.
If you don’t have much money, your niece will understand. It’s the thought that counts.
I say send it. As long as it doesn’t smell like mildew.
Add a pretty bookmark and its good.

Or get a pretty piece of paper and write a personal note on it and glue to the inside cover.
