My parent had schizophrenia. It's impacted my own parenting

My dad supposedly had Sz, but my cousin on my mom’s side of the family I know was diagnosed with Sz. He committed suicide ten years ago. He shot himself with a gun.

My Mom has schizophrenia. But she didn’t develop it until she was like 40. All I know is it completely changes the family dynamics. She was no longer my Mom, she was someone I had to take care of. (well still my mom)

Its a struggle that is for sure, an eyeopener. But it shapes the children for the better i feel (when treated properly)
