I haven’t disciplined myself to play the piano for years. I didn’t realize that, as I have grown older, my hands really do hurt from the requirements of that skill.
I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you can still either pick that hobby back up or maybe find a new hobby in music that you also love? 
It’s a pain worse than going to a doctor. I always wondered why I didn’t object to doctor. He usually hurt.
