I said something nice about her encouraging me and read a Bahai prayer for the departed. The service was beautiful. She looked so relaxed in her coffin bed. It’s not wrong to say that, when we are old, death is a happy occasion. But, I’ll selfishly miss her.

That must have been hard to say goodbye to your friend.

I’m sorry you had to say goodbye, but it’s nice that you have such a peaceful attitude about it. It sounds like a beautiful ceremony.
well good for you for reading something at the ceremony…sorry for your loss…you’re not selfish…it’s hard losing someone.

No bravery necessary, @PatrickT. It was a cozy, warm crowd and I had planned out what I wanted to say ahead of time. Don’t forget, I’m an old cheerleader, and old performer, and an old teacher so I’m familiar with getting up in front of a crowd.
