Frustrating, whenever we’re at the store he’s so damn rude it’s unbelievable. Has no idea how to be polite. And he’s the worst driver ever. I’m the opposite, I’m very polite and I’m a good driver. My sister is the opposite too. My mom is REALLY polite and she’s “real” too, while she’s an ok driver, better than my dad at least. It’s just really frustrating. I close my eyes while my dads driving on the highway, and I hate how he’s so rude. After my dad rudely bid adieu to the lady at the store I apologetically thanked her to atone for his actions. Ughhh and he’s a car accident waiting to happen.
My grandpa drives like this. He has a good lawyer who can get him out of any tickets, so he just drives like the rules of the road don’t apply to him. It’s quite terrifying.

I think it’s fueled by his terrible GAD which he takes lexapro for. He is prescribed Xanax but barely takes it because he can’t function on it. My dad really doesn’t give a what about what people think of him. He’s very antisocial . My mom has the patience of a monk to stay married to him for 31 years. He’s very verbally abusive sometimes. I’m glad they’re together and all…but Its weird. Although that’s just the way my mom is, she has very good family values and puts up with my dads abuse well.

He has gotten a lot meaner as he’s getting older.

Yeah he wasn’t always this way. And he used to be a good driver too. I won’t end up like that.

I get passenger anxiety too. You can’t change how your dad drives, so change your reaction.
I don’t get it with other people because usually I’m not riding with the biggest maniac on the road. Thank god I’m moving in 3 days so I won’t have to ride with him again.
Angry drivers make me anxious. Sometimes I have too bum a ride from them though. You will too someday.
I love my Dad very much and he has times when he can be happy and polite but as a general rule he is just an ornery, old, opinionated bitch. He also drives like he owns the road. He is a very offensive driver. How he gets away with no accidents and tickets is f’ing beyond me. I got my own car a couple months ago, Thank God, so I don’t have to ride with him very much anymore. Yep, my old Dad. He sho nuff got a loud opinion about EVERYTHING. sheeeesh.
