My 18 year old son just popped in

And he told me he’s moving in a few days. I’m so proud of him. He’s totally ready. He can cook and do laundry and pay his bills.

I’m not ready. I just want to cry. No more late night talks. He and I would often chat for hours. He is such an interesting guy. I’m putting on a good face.

Awe. I have none of my own kids but I grew up helping raise some and married into that as well. It’s totally different and feel for you. It’s good your son can have some independence but I realize how hard that is for you.

Always good to stay in touch and it’s so much easier these days with phones and internet. I’m sure they won’t totally leave your life but you’ve done well to raise those kids of yours. That is something to be proud about.

I’m pretty sure I’ll see him fairly often. His roommate’s family live in my little city so my son will bring him out here and then pop in here so at least I’ll see him a bit a couple times a month.

You’ve done the hard yards. Important to stay in the game for the fun stuff. Grandkids! It’s bound to happen so keep yourself well and work on being there for the fun times…
