I like that you can delete the messages you sent on both sides so the person won’t see the messages you sent while you were drunk or something

Yeah you can wipe out any trace of anything said on both sides. My partner hates it.

If you send messages where it’s important for both parties to then immediately delete their messages, it seems like it might be better to not be messaging in the first place. 
Maybe there should be an App where you send a message and it never gets delivered to anyone. The App could be called “Message-In-A-Bottle”
