I grew up with migraines, before and during my primordial symptoms - it was probably the start of everything going wrong in retrospect. GP said it was stress, but years later, it seems it was something much more deep.
Nice share.
I get the aura migraine and fatigue but not usually headache
I’ve been suffering from severe, frequent migraines for 38 years. They’ve been especially bad over the last 15 years since peri and menopause. In the last few years, I have been receiving new, aggressive treatments that are just now beginning to show promise.
I’ve always known that being bipolar and female was anecdotally associated with migraine symptoms, severity and frequency. This association with sz is new, and its stronger association is both surprising and not surprising.
I have sza bipolar type which is a disorder encompassing both bipolar disorder and schizophrenia into one mental illness.
Weird, because my dad suffers terribly with severe chronic migraines and cluster headaches. He suspected a connection between sz and migraines a while ago, so thank you for this article you shared.
Interesting. My family too is a migraine family…though I - thank God - do not have it.
