Mentally stimulating work plays key role in staving off dementia, study finds

More mentally stimulating jobs are more stressful, especially in countries like the U.S. where people in demanding jobs are often expected to work long hours and take very little vacation to meet the job demands.

Scandinavian countries are known for good work-life balance, lots of vacation time, and reasonable number of work hours.

I wonder if the same study conducted in the U.S., for example, would give similar results or if the cognitive decline due to sustained stress in demanding jobs would cancel out the benefits.
