when I kind of bend over and flex the wrong muscles in my upper left portion of my stomach I get a knot as big as a biscuit in my upper torso and I have to massage it before it will go away…it really hurts when it happens…do I have a hernia? this has gone on ever since I painted a concrete wall around my house in AZ.
I think for a hernia, there are organs that somehow get into the pocket. Is the lump always there, or does it only appear when you bend over or flex? I don’t know where exactly I’m going with this line of questioning; I’m not a doctor. Can you afford to see your gp? I’m not sure how hernias are fixed, but hopefully it’s something simple.
yes thank you…to answer your question it is only when I turn and flex a certain way that they “muscle”? “organ”? tense up and cramp. I have been talking to the mods and I decided I will tell my mom I need to go to the gp again for this…I am kind of scared now…it’s been going on for years and I don’t want to get surgery…but what if it gets bad???
edit…I am not scared now…it’s just so alarming that I might have an organ sticking through a weak spot in my muscle.
Well if it is a hernia, please rest assured that the procedures they use to manage them (including surgery) are so routine now there are very few complications. My dad had inguinal (groin) hernias on both sides. He went in for surgery and has never looked back.
I never have had surgery…I have had two colonoscopys though so it’s about like something like that…I hope anyways…
