thats will nit help as you have said you must take drugs to help you lose weight i am now on alpha lipoic acid which is safe i will see if it will make a difference.

do you know what is the consequences fo dopamine d2 antagonist which leads to weight gain? i mean what is the mechanism? also i have another question off topic , is atypical antipsychotics cause prolactin elevation? if so do you know how to counteract this side effect?
Does from all ap the face is strange? My eyes are so different from mine previous look. And my face swollen. I cant handle with all this trauma. Im on meds 10 years. Nothing is better.

i feel sorry for you. when i was in acute phase of schizophrenia my eyes look like stunned and it was abnormal look but now after antipsychotic it looks normal.and regarding your face it could be due weight gain from antipsychotics.regarding social life it could be a negative symptoms of schizophrenia and maybe you need antipsychotic adjustment also you may have depression and you need to take anti depression drug. my advice to you is talk with your pdoc about all your problems and concerns and i am sure it will be solved and hopefully you will feel better.
I took Lurasidone and gained weight on it. Plus, there was tiredness and sedation.
There are two medications used to cull weight gain induced by APs.
One is metformin and the other is Topamax.

I’ve gained a lot on Latuda, but I also don’t exercise and eat like crap. So the latter two are more likely the cause of my weight gain
But it really helps with my sz symptoms, so that’s the tradeoff i guess

metformin is potent in weight reduction and i have tried it but caused severe insomnia which presisted even after discontinueation!! also topiramate like all other anti consultants have serious side effect like steven johnson syndrome and i am afraid to try it. i am now started taking green coffee and will see the results i hope it work in weight reduction.
unfortunately all antipsychotics cause weight gain as a side effect. but hopefully there is effective drugs to help in weight loss also healthy diet and exercising should help
