Low doses of antipsychotics may help prevent schizophrenia relapse

Maybe people who can get by with lower doses are less likely to relapse?

I’m on 5mg clopixol which is one sixth of the DDD (Defined Daily Dose). The DDD is the standard dose for treatment of the average patient, defined by standard medical practice.

Google images of charts of the antipsychotic dose equivalent comparisons to find the DDD for any particular antipsychotic.

Have u heard the name amisulpride amigold …i m taking that 50 mg per day…
Is there any benefit of low dose?

I’m not really familiar with it, sorry.

Lurasidone (Latuda) is not on that chart unfortunately, but I’m on a fairly low dose of 60mg and am doing great.

I used to be on a really high dose of Olanzapine, 40mg and had really bad side effects. That’s 4x the DDD.

I wasn’t successful with a aripiprazole, maxed out at 400mg injection then become more psychotic. They switched to Invega and steadily from 75mg to 150mg injection. pdoc tells me after this I’m on the typical antipsychotics as I’ve tried all atypical ones.

Wow it’s the opposite for me bad side effects on Latuda. I was taking it while getting my associates at community college. It made me restless and gave me tremors at night. This led to me going off medication for a long time. I regret lots of things that I did well off medication. Biggest mistake of my life. I was completely psychotic and just hid it from everyone. It was easy to hide back then and I’m high functioning so no one really noticed.
