That backs up previous research showing such deficits. In my case there was a marked deterioration in academic performance after getting mumps at the age of 9. Given that, according to my father, my pre teen IQ was very high it raises a question. Is failing to do as well academically as would reasonably be expected, based on your IQ, a risk factor for psychosis/schizophrenia?
