No, I’m AFL mad though - where I live that’s the sport of the city.

Oh I mentioned the rugby because my team, Wigan, just played the Aussie champions in a world club cup. The standard by the Aussies was very high.
Before I changed my tv package I watched some AFL. I really enjoyed it. Is it played on a cricket pitch? I mean - can both be played in the same venue?

Yes afl is played on an oval like cricket. We have massive crowds of 100,000 sometimes.
I think The Verve came from Wigan? I don’t know much about the UK, but I’m getting into soccer after it’s become much more popular here.

Yeah I get confused when I speak to Aussies from different areas. ‘Footie’ can mean rugby league or Aussie rules depending on who you speak too!
