Just told the mental health team to sod off

I’m not having a man come to my house to do the depot. The new CMHt is further away and I don’t yet drive so I can’t get to it.

They are still insisting I see him so I emailed them and said I won’t be seeing him. He can ■■■■ right off. I won’t let him in.

You need that depot though. You cant afford to go bananas with 2 kids to look after.

Can you have a trusted family member or friend stay with you in the house while you receive the depot?

What’s your issue with men? Do you think every man is a monster or something? He’d be coming to simply give you your shot..

Blocked their number

@TheCanuk I once had a psych nurse offer me money for services.

oh no, what will you do? you could be a danger to your boys or something if you become unstable…you need your meds.

Well I can’t go back to my old CMHT @jukebox and if I could I would go there

So I guess I’m off the books now.

This is a disaster waiting to happen. You need your med and you have 2 kids to look after. Extremely unlikely that this man they want to send over would be un-professional. Most men aren’t weirdos. You are over-reacting

No I’m not over-reacting. Stop gas lighting me.

@Qwerty, are you behind on getting your depot?

I would insist on having a female come, or having a trusted family member or friend be there with you while you get your depot.

As a mom you need to stay on meds

As a fellow woman/mother who has also had issues with men coming to my home, I completely understand your reservations.

I absolutely 100% insist that with my husband is with me while a man is in the home OR that a female be the one coming to my home instead.

If you take your injection on the deltoid you can always do it yourself.

This is true, but unfortunately, the men who are weirdos tend to go for jobs where they will have unrestricted access to women in vulnerable positions. It isn’t an over-reaction. It is a risk assessment of a rare but real threat that exists. The main thing, though, @Qwerty, is that women can also be weirdos, so the threat stays the same regardless. Being in a position of needing a home visit is a vulnerable position to be in. If you’re stuck with the CMT you have, is there someone you can have stay with you during visits?

In my team often the nurses are accompanied by a support worker. Don’t know if this would help?

You said 5 hours ago on the ‘say anything thread’
That your going to have tablets instead of injection

Yes tablets seem more appropriate

Going to try and get tablets yet. Then I won’t need the CMHT. I can just go through my GP

Thanks @Ninjastar and everyone.

Update :

I contacted my local MP. And she is brilliant. She is going to contact my CMHT to see whether I can stay on with them. If not she will contact the other team and see if there is a female I can be out with.

Hope they can help you @Qwerty !

Lol. I understand. Im freqeuntly telling them to bugger off, when im not happy. I actually told one of them, that if the guy was gonna be condescending i would nut him. Got a Warning letter for that. And the bloke left the trust, after 6 weeks anyway.

Im arsed if im gonna have some uni grad, that hasnt wet his balls yet - tell me, what to do, when hes still green, when ive got 40 years experience of MH living with it.

You got to “play the game”, to get what you want sometimes.
