Just figured out my grandpa's lighter is fifty years old

my mom reminded me that my aunt Paula gave the Zippo lighter that I am getting repaired to my grandpa in the early seventies…that’s fifty years !! Get it back soon I hope…they are renovating it for me at Zippo…so cool.

I hope you can post some pics when you get it back. It would be neat to see it.

@Csummers yes ma’am…free and they pay the return shipping…!!

@shutterbug no, I’m sorry, no photo capability…it is smaller than usual Zippo’s and has a plaid set of three lines and a blank space and repeated across the body of the lighter with a space that says E K on it. my aunt Paula had it engraved with my grandfather’s initials.

When I was smoking I was given a zippo as a present 30 years ago. I never really used it and I think I still have it around somewhere. I might have a look for it.

I can remember that zippo sound so clearly when my dad lit up a cigarette while watching TV, it has that distinctive click to it.
Hated the actual smoke smell.
