Are the scientific developments that we have now is ahead of times or still lacking and we are behind some inventions or discoveries?
I feel we are ahead if we think about our development over past few centuries. But considering the travel to Moon or Mars or solving complex issues or curing some diseases or making everyone understand the scientific concepts we are still behind.
What are your thoughts on this?
I grew up on windows 3.1 ---- now we have extremely advanced smart phones that can do anything, hybrid cars as well and it’s only been roughly 30 years…
We are definitely ahead…
That’s a great question. I’m still perplexed on why they don’t know the root cause or base cause or that they cannot cure or have better treatments for schizophrenia and mental illness.
Sometimes I feel technology is too far ahead
Look at what’s being created nuclear atomic bombs.
And then there’s apparently some ai singularity or such. Coming up. Where things, might go downhill.
But… Maybe there’s a good reason for everything. In the grand scheme of things.
People shouldn’t be killed or tortured
I think human nutrition is lagging behind. There is no topic I find that has more controversy surrounding it, imo…
Maybe it has to do with the fact that there are different optimal ways of eating for different peeps…
Then there’s pharmacology and stuff like overuse of antibiotics and such, hope it doesn’t lead to olden days again where we have nothing to cure infectious diseases with except 4 nature…
I think our technology has outgrown our humanity… it’s all good to have the tech, but when we lose our love and compassion for other people and animals, it’s gone too far. We need to grow as people, too. There’s too much greed and hate driving our technological advances.
I believe science is further ahead than society. dystopian future may already be here right now
I see what we have now compared to what I had as a kid and I think science is bumping along nicely. I still want a hoverboard, though.
Artificial intelligence alone gives me the feeling that science is progressing a lot. Oh and virtual reality.
I just hope they can steer AI in a good direction.
