Internalized Stigma and how I felt

What is internalized stigma? Internalized stigma in relation to menal illness is when the individual begins to feel marginalized or lesser then everyone else just because they were diagnosed with sz in our cases. I remember myself before I learned about stigma and more about sz that I internalized the feeling of stigma I felt I was lesser then veryone else jsut due to the diagnosis. Later I learned that there is a recovery process and that it’s not healthy to think that I am lesser than anyone. I learned that we’re all human beings striving to survive the best we can. And to internalized all these ideas that some people seem to have of stigma and what may be internalized is a problem and not good formy state of mind.

What do you think?
