I went on a cruise

I went on a 10 day cruise from Baltimore north up the east coast of the US and Canada. It was fun and I think I had a good time, but I want to tell you something. If your mind is not open to joy no matter what you do you will not have joy. Even on a cruise. And that is a little sad. The cruise offered everything possible to give me joy.

Yes. I have noticed myself close my mind to love. We have to be receptive to it.

So true. I believe that if I ever had the ability to relax, have fun and feel happy, I lost it somewhere along the line. I don’t find joy in things that make other people happy.
However, being out in nature does make me happy; quietly, contentedly happy.
I think that when I compare myself to others, I never relate to what makes them happy. I never understand.

That is AWESOME!! 10 days! That’s a loooong time! How was it? Did you take any excursions? What was your favorite port to visit?

I enjoyed it but I wasn’t quite to the level of joy. I went with my mother. Three meals a day were top-quality food. There were professional shows every evening, singing and dancing, a magician, a comedian, and a gymnast show. There was a lot of live music on the boat. We watched two movies in our room. We didn’t book any excursions but we were organized and took our own tours. I liked the small towns on the water up in Maine and Canada.
My favorite port was Halifax, Nova Scotia because the weather was good and we took a 3.5 walking tour. I think “Nova Scotia” means “New Scotland.” I went to Scotland when I was 14 years old, so it brought back pleasant memories.
