I recommend if you are going to get cancer don't get it in your mouth

I am having difficulties finding someone to do the biopsy because of the two insurances I have. My primary insurance doesn’t cover dental services, but it does cover biopsies. My secondary insurance does cover dental but it won’t cover the biopsy because I have a primary insurance that will pay for it.

Finding someone to do a biopsy of my gums that is not a dentist is hard.

I called my regular doctor for help.

It is absurd . . .

Mrs. Jayster was sent to get an ASAP imaging of her head suspecting brain cancer, and they scheduled her out three and half weeks. Then, the day before the imaging, some low level medical gal phones and says, “This just came across my desk this morning, you have hardware in your body and we are not sure what it will mean in our machine.” Then, we have heard nothing from them for most of a week.

I’m angry, of course.

@Jayster I’m so sorry to hear this news. I hope everything gets straightened away and your wife is able to get the imaging she needs and that everything turns out good.

@Jayster thats really awful! I’d call a patient advocate from the hospital and see if they can get things moving faster for you. That’s so scary. You could also ask your primary dr to make some phone calls

@Leaf im so sorry! Can you get the biopsy and just use one insurance?

Mrs. Jayster got a phone call this morning with the party’s concerns. They said, “You have to take that stuff out of your belly if you want us to image your head.”

Wow. You should talk to the dr about this. What’s in her belly?

@LilyoftheValley

Years ago, they put in a defibulator or something to help with back pain. It didn’t help, but they just turned it off and left it in there. I guess that is what’s going on.

Ok. I’m so sorry. Is having it removed a possibility?

Well when my dentist saw something under my tongue, I went to a oral surgeon to have it removed. I cost me like $800 for the surgeon and another $300 for the biopsy. Medicare didn’t cover it.

Actually, it is the leads that are the problem (I guess). I don’t know how involved such a surgery would be. I don’t know how quickly they would be willing to do it. Thanks for asking!

Yeah. Medicare doesn’t cover that stuff. It sucks. I have Medicare too, but not Medicaid

I’d get it done as fast as possible, and worry about the bills later. Oftentimes, you can get financial assistance from hospitals where your bills are reduced and you get a payment plan

Instead of the MMRI which the doctor asked for first, she’s going to get a cat scan with dye. It is a month out since the doctor said ASAP.

I have an ulceration that’s eating away at my gums. Antibiotics didn’t stop it.

Mrs. Jayster got the partial Brain Scan.

They saw sinusitis but not a tumor.

They recommended more imaging, but at present Mrs. Jayster doesn’t want to go exploring for more stuff.
