The receptionist at my Fathers doctors building, asked me if my Father and I were brothers.
My Father is 86 years old for crying out loud!
I knew I looked old, but brothers?!?!
This is not the first time someone asked if we were brothers.
I also look a lot older than my age. People my same age calls me uncle. I also walk slow. I’m 52 and my dad is 80. I’m much bigger and taller than him so I don’t think someone would asked if we’re brothers. I’m sorry this happens to you @Wave.
I think they pretended to be surprised when you said you were his son in order to compliment your elderly father in law. It was about him, not you. I’m sorry it hurt your feelings.
For the longest time everybody thought I was younger than I was. Recently someone called me an old man. My Mom also said with regret that it was not right that my hair was graying rapidly. It happens. However @LilyoftheValley is probably right in your case.
It depends on the other person’s perception. Some think that loosing hair makes you old but it doesn’t! I had a friend before my diagnosis that was 20 and he was close to be completely bald.
He looked like a 35 y.o.
I lost lots of hair and once a guy thought my mother was my wife! She’s 56 and I am 29!
