If you can change your mentality there should be something out there you can do as a purpose

Doesn’t matter if it’s work, volunteering, art, reading, writing, studying etc

Stop focusing on your weaknesses, and discover your strengths

It’s a journey

Some people get MI, others get life threatening illness or have accidents that finish them off before their time

Don’t let yourself rot. Do whatever you can to improve your situation, and make sure those who’re supposed to help you are doing their job properly. Kick their asses if your unhappy

That’s a double negative, that means you can do everything! Congrats! j/k

It takes practice, writing out your thoughts can help because you can think about what you want, rewrite them in a way that makes sense, you get better over time, then you can do things mentally without as much effort. I did that for a while. I would write my thoughts down in MS Word, then reword them, then rearrange sentences. It helped me improve my thought process. With practice I became better at articulating myself.

The brain has a feature called neuroplasticity which means it can rewire itself, and you rewire your brain by thinking differently, I found CBT helpful with that. Some people are more plastic than others and learn quicker, but everyone has this ability to improve themselves mentally.

Don’t beat yourself up, it doesn’t accomplish anything.

That’s what I thought 40 years ago. Today, I get off work in two hours. I’ll drive home in my nice car to my nice apartment and fix chicken for dinner and go to my doctors appointment. I get paid Friday and it goes in my bank account. I’ll treat myself to something and sock away the rest. I just started my next class and I need three classes for my degree.

Things change. But sometimes you got to make things happen. You can prepare yourself for something good to happen by taking your meds and listening to the doctors. And DO NOT do drugs. You can lay the foundation for a good recovery by doing the basics. Start a routine; take a walk , shower, fix a healthy meal. There’s some things most people can do.
