How many people have mental illnesses on this earth? Also how many mental illnesses are there? I don’t feel like looking it up. I changed my mind, there are 200 mental illnesses.

I believe it’s 1 in 4 suffer from a mental health condition I think that number is exaggerated but still it’s what they claim idk how many illnesses there are

There are about 7.9 billion people in the world according to a Google search. 1 in 100 people of the general population develop schizophrenia. Rounding off to 8 billion that is 80,000,000 million people with schizophrenia alone.

I don’t know the exact numbers but every version of the DSM gets more and more disorders entered into it. As long as that continues to be the case the number of mentally ill people will continue to climb

Anxiety disorders, are the most common mental illnesses. I looked it up, but it was only talking about the United States.

Not entirely sure it’s something that can be measured in a logistical sense. I’d be interested to know too though. Tbh sometimes I feel like I have mental illnesses that don’t have a name or fit into a proper category.

I’m trying to figure out how many mental hospitals there are in the whole earth, just to figure out in a round about way…how many people go to the mental hospital. I’m trying to figure out how many people stay in a mental hospital, when the hospitals are full?

Bowens said there are 12,472 mental hospitals, so if the average hospital holds 100 people…then there would be 1,242,700(currently) people in mental hospitals. but we don’t know how long people stay in mental hospitals?

I was watching a little bit of a documentary the other day about a hospital for the criminally insane. I wonder how many of those are left in the US.
