I was like 16 and felt pretty sad for being there but now that I look back at it, it was a great experience with other teenagers like me, but the fact that it was a ‘mental hospital’ made it sad, but they gave me everything I needed for free so I really can’t complain.

I felt humiliated for most of my stay…but rose above the bull…shite…some nurses were bithes to me …all my so called friends were no more

I hope things have changed since I was in psychiatric hospitals. That said, I felt disrespected, degraded, sub-human–like a piece of garbage.

The Nurses and other staff played “Mind Games” with me.
Some were downright abusive.

I felt better.
I was sad that I had to be there, but I understood that it was necessary for my own good, and I tried to make the best of it.

overall I felt relief, the responsibility was off me, if only for a bit

The feeling of coming back home was awesome though. It’s like you were away for a really really long time even if you weren’t away for very long.

I was strapped to a bed I could not move, same as a stray jacket. and injected with neddles…jaysus we had hard times

Yeah it was tough for me too. My 7th stay which was my only one NOT for psychosis, but rather suicidal thoughts, was the only time they were nice to me and respected me. Probably because they couldn’t take advantage of me. When truly I needed the utmost support the first 6 times, I was in a lot worse place the first 6 stays, the 7th I was in a better place which was the only time they were nice to me.

I remember them injecting me with a very high dose of Ativan and another unknown chemical.
They said because my blood pressure was high.
What a lame excuse!
The injection made me Hallucinate.

I remember they injected me with ativan and benadryl during my psychosis. I was trying so hard not to fall asleep. Ended up sleeping for a whole day.
