Here's how I'd spend $1,000,000

If I suddenly had a million I’d pay myself $25,000 a year for the next 40 years until I was 90. (40 x 25000 = a million).

How boring is that ?

And If I mentioned that with current GDP in the US I can get you a 7% average return every year on that million investment? Then you can pull from you ceiling in emergencies and just live off the intrest.

It’s good to know accountants

God when you break it down like that a million doesn’t go very far. You’re poor.

What would you do with that $25,000 every year? Travel, buy crap or what? Just wondering.

I would pay off my houses, loans and credit cards. Be on easy street until death.

Good question. I’d probably just live like I do now . But I might go on a holiday once a year though.

It’s worse than that. In 40 years $25,000 would only be worth $12,500 in todays money due to inflation.

You’re right, you can’t afford to have a million dollars.

I would probably spend on cocaine and end up overdosing on heroin with my last cash. No regrets

I hope you don’t mean that :frowning: That actually happened in real life to someone

Anything else does not give me pleasure. Every food tastes the same, orgasms are just meh. But when it comes to drugs I feel like a human and I think it would be great to go out like this

Well I hope you can get clean someday. I’m an alcholic and felt the same way about alcohol. I got help and quit.

I am clean, I just smoke cigarettes, when I lived in UK I used to do coke every 3-4 months and only a gram between about 3 people. Considering that UK is a capital almost of crackheads, that consumption is really minor

That’s great ! I got the wrong impression from your post.

Iwould ask my parents to help me invest it. They are really good with money. I’m amazed by how much they have accumulated over their life.

thats very responsible actually, it shows something about you. not a bad way to spend it at all, its better than just wasting it lol Gives you a steady life for the next 40 years

I like your answer @everhopeful. I would do the same and continue to live the way I am now. I would will the money I don’t live to spend to my nieces, since I’m not going to live 40 more years.

First thing I’d do with $1,000,000 is pay off the house (like $50k) then pay off my cc debts ($25k), buy an online naturopathic practicioner degree ($11k), and roll the remainder into ecommerce. Lots of runway to build a successful business and eventually buy a bigger house with.

I’d pay off all my debt, buy a nice little house, hire someone to take care of it, and pay my way through the education I want.
Not as it, bribe people for grades, but as it, take it at my own pace instead of struggling to meet the minimum requirements for student loans
