It’s the Jewish holiday that celebrates the time when the Jews were set free from slavery. The Egyptians enslaved the Jews for a very long time and God sent Moses to set them free.

I believe it’s about when the plague of the death of the first born son came over Egypt but it “passed over” the Jewish peoples family’s (i.e. did not affect them) and therefore it’s called the passover.

That’s correct, but it’s also about the freedom of the slaves, one of the reasons we eat matzah. When the Jews were leaving Egypt they made bread with no yeast in it.
But yes, that’s where the name comes from.
