Bugs Bunny turns 80 today.
Bugs Bunny made his official debut on July 27 1940 in Tex Avery’s A Wild Hare . He was first named ‘Happy Rabbit’ before being renamed Bugs Bunny after his original writer, Ben ‘Bugs’ Hardaway. Although Bugs was not the creation of any one man, but the creative talents of perhaps five or six directors and many cartoon writers.
