I am a dapper raptor.
No one can complain about hair control with this regimen
Shaving is kind of a ritual for me. I have my shaving foam I lather in my little bowl and a single blade old school razor I love. Problem is that I nick easily and I bleed for freakin’ hours after. Tired of it. The electric razor doesn’t cause bleeding and it’s just going to have to be the new normal. I’ll find a replacement ritual.
I see. I too cut easily shaving. So I’m using a dull razorblade. I use the same blade for months. First shave down. Then also shave up after when it’s gone dull. Works pretty good, but not perfect. Once in a while I cut myself, usually on the chin.
Aaaagh. Using a dull blade makes me crazy, but bleeding like stuck pig isn’t wonderful, either.
I dry shave with a single blade. I never really understood fancy shaving.
But then again I never had a daddy to teach me.
Blunt razors? Sod that. Thats probably why your cutting.
I buy in bulk gillette 5 bladed razors at about 30 quid for 10. But i shave my head as well so need something fairly decent.
I don’t use blunt razors. Former chef – I’m very aware that you can do more damage with a blunt blade than a sharp one.
Electric razors are nice but I never cared for the daily shave for three weeks to get your skin used to the electric razor.
But Braun is a quality razor though. It seemed things were better if I shaved in a steamy shower.
I bought cheap ones so they never lasted long.
My last electric was a Remmington.
DO NOT RECOMMEND.
It pulled more hair than a Brazilian wax. Nasty POS.
My last one was a Remington too. Cheap ■■■■ is right.
I love my old de razors. I dont have as much to shave at the moment but still have to trim. How many brands of blades have you tried? That seems like the obvious problem that would lead to your face getting ripped up. Half the blades out there rip my face up too. The other half work wonders though.
I use an electric dry/wet razor. My (s) daughter says it doesn’t give me a close shave, so she shaves me once a week or so. She uses Gillette fusion 5 blades.
I’ve yet to find a good nose hair trimmer.
I love those for a close shave, but that’s one of the ones that nicks me. They even have six blade razors now. I wonder if they come with a free bandage pack to stick on your face after you slice your chin off?
Shick, Gillette, Bic, Equate, and Dorco (what Dollar Shave Club sells) are the main ones I can remember for cartridge razors. I dislike them because of the plastic waste. My preferred safety razor is the Merkur.
Straight razor vs electric
Is the electric a dry shave on the right? My electric is wet and dry. I can apply a hot towel and then gel first so I get a shave that feels like a cartridge razor.
I don’t know but it’s probably a dry shave.
A reddit thread with that picture follows.
Hahaha. Epic thread title.
