Was just in a battle with a gallinipper . It’s a large viscous breed of misqeuto. Apparently they are in Canada now usually found in southern USA. I could literally hear it in the room.

Yikes! I just looked it up. Those are huge. I’ve never been face to face with one thankfully. Glad you survived the battle!
We have a similar breed out here but pretty rare. Normal mosquitos can be a problem and they pass on Ross River Fever which is a nasty virus but that is north of me! It’s been so dry out here the mossies haven’t been a problem last couple of years but a wet summer it’s on!
