I buy flats of crushed tomatoes because, really, life is too damn short to skin and seed tomatoes (to make concasse des tomates). Crushed tomatoes, some basil, garlic, a hit of salt and pepper and you have a divine starter sauce for pasta. No need to dine on a tin of sloppy seconds from DOW Chemicals. Blech!
