For our Yankee friends down south

Traveling and taking pics for the next week, so here is a slightly premature Happy 4th for y’all. Try and keep the gun crime to a minimum this year? :stuck_out_tongue: Will check in as I’m able and as my data plan permits.

I never associate “Yankee” with “south”. Then remembered you’re from Canada

Remember going through a St. Louis airport, the guy sees my passport and says “ITS NOT YOUR fault you’re a Yankee! It’s yer parents fault!” Lol! Crazy guy.

Well I’d invite you in for a visit during your travels. but I forget I’m sz and don’t like to socialize.

Enjoy your much-deserved vacation @shutterbug

I initially misread your post and thought it said “here is a slightly immature Happy 4th for y’all.”

For people from the southeast USA, Yankee refers to someone from NYC. But I think that people from countries other than the USA refer to all Americans as Yankees. I’m unsure about other areas of the USA though, if Yankee refers to someone from NYC or just any American.

It refers to the baseball team. We don’t use it ourselves in any other way. But we recognize it like you said - other countries mean Americans, Southerners mean Northerners.

I’m a Yankee through and through
