Finally got a new watch

That’s a nice watch, with the blue coloring.

If I buy another watch I’ll probably go for the Seiko Prospex. They seem heavy duty to me.

Yeah I got the Willard. There are a lot in the prospex line. The 6r movement is kinda hit and miss. Sadly with my Willard it was a miss so I sent it back and now it’s consistent but not as accurate as my others. It literally runs a consistent-15 seconds a day. Right on the edge. I realized recently too the fact that seiko probably has more dive watch models than any other company. They get super badass in the 3-4 thousand dollar range. I’d love to get one of these.

We got a deal on them overseas. It’s an astronauts watch but I guess there aren’t many astronauts in the world. They market it to military pilots and will sell them to us overseas for $750. It’s a $2800 watch.

Great deal or i wouldn’t have bought it. I wasn’t sick yet and was a senior military officer making plenty of cash.

I don’t pay retail for anything.

Damn that’s badass. Also it’s got military pedigree. And direct military pedigree in your case lol.

The engraving on the back is really cool but it has my name on it.

Yeah, I want to buy one with the classic Pepsi coloring or a baby blue one. If you want a diver Seiko is the way to go.

If you don’t mind solar here are some more affordable ones.

It could be an heirloom. I’d be stoked to get something like that. From a military family member.

Those were all nice watches.

I really don’t know which I would choose between solar or automatic. I guess automatic would suit me better because I live in a cold climate where we don’t get much sun.

You don’t need much sun. The seiko samurai is around 400. It’s an auto. The older models can be found on eBay. Really though if I wanted to get a nice automatic diver for a good price I’d get a citizen ny00 variant or an orient.

Good to know. I could keep it close to the window so it would be exposed to sunlight.

These are tough certified divers for a steal. I’ve owned two.

I’ll go for a Seiko if I buy one. I’ve had my eyes on them for a long time.

Right on 151515

Sorry if I’m typing a lot. I’m a little hyped. Had a busy day and haven’t slowed down.

I never thought about that. Thanks. I will show it to my son and make sure he gets it. I tried to get him in the Marines but he just wasn’t into it.

Yeah I never was serious about joining the military either. The older I get the more I feel I’d be open to it. I got sick in my mid to late teens though. I’d love to get my dad into watches for that reason lol Nah.

My son is doing well. He doesn’t have schizophrenia but he did get suicidal and came back home once. It was during COVID and he was getting that extra unemployment and didn’t miss work or anything.

I got him some therapy through my job. He doesn’t have any insurance or anything. He came out of it and went back to work and is doing well. He lives way far away from us and doesn’t rely on us for anything. He just made 30

My nephew is in the Army and is doing well. I give him crap because it’s the Army but I am proud of him. He had only been in a few years and went in a skinny kid and has put on 50 pounds of muscle. He is a ripped young man now and has already been selected for Staff Sergeant.

He is headed to Germany and about to come home on leave. I am going to try to convince him to stay in and do 20. If he didn’t get Germany he was going to get out. He joined at 17 so he could retire at 37 with a full pension. That’s a good deal.

I almost didn’t make it until 20. I got sick and got processed out medically but was so close the Marines let me stay until I hit 20. I get all kinds of benefits. It’s a a great deal.
