Favourite flower

When a kid I was taken to an alternative doctor. They asked me what flower I liked, with pictures, and drew conclusions about my character.

I picked both a sweet and small forget-me-not and a wild thorny rose. Not sure what she took from that. :grimacing:

@PinCushions topic made me think of that.

What is your favourite flower, plant or tree? Why? Does it tell something about your character?

Conker tree (horse chestnut)
This reminds me of when I was ten years old and lived in Germany my dad was in the army. We had a horse chestnut tree and we used to go out and play conkers

Ohh…cool…I googled it and saw the pics. I never knew that was the name in English. We collected those in the forest. That was fun.

Bird of paradise. I have some of these in my front courtyard and in my backyard.

Also the trumpet honeysuckle. Unfortunately, these grow rampantly in all directions. There was a huge one almost 13 ft tall in my backyard but I had to finally have it removed. There was a second one which I left in place but had to cut way back. The abundant orange flowers are gorgeous and attract lots of bees and humming birds.

I like the flowers that grow on the side of the highway best. One of them is chicory.

But I dont know what the others are. Probably buttercups and Queen Anne’s lace or wild carrot.

That reminds me of my all-time favorite flower which grows wild here – the California poppy. When the wildflpwers bloom here in Spring, it is stunning, especially the orange CA poppies and the blue lupine.

Also, in the Spring there are vast fields of yellow mustard weed. Visually stunning but wreak havoc on my allergies.

It’s mothers day in England tomorrow and I went to the supermarket and bought these rainbow tulips for my mum. I was in a crowd of children who were with their dads picking out flowers for their mum’s.

Tulips are my favourite flower

Thanks for all your answers!

This is one of my favourites too. It was my mums favourite. It makes me think of her. It brings light in the room, and has very soft and light green leaves.

Sparmannia africana.
